3form’s Varia Artisan Collection is all about connectivity – connecting with our surroundings, the people who created the materials used in our built environments, and those we share our spaces with.

Explore Woven Bamboo

Woven Bamboo

Artisans harvest wild bamboo from groves that flourish without much cultivation. The bamboo is then carefully split into thin strips to be woven. The strips are plaited into mats using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. The plaited mats are sent to 3form’s headquarters in Utah to be hand-laid and encapsulated into our Varia material one panel at a time, making each one unique, telling its own story of craftsmanship.

See Knotted Hemp

Knotted Hemp

Knotted Hemp features spinners, dyers, and knotters from Rokum Rolpa and Kathmandu, blending ancient skills with modern design. A “tooth-and-spindle” technique is used to hand-spin the fiber into yarn. The yarn is dyed or sun-bleached and distributed to knotters in Khokana. Artisans knot the yarn using their hands and feet. The yarn is then prepared for shipment to 3form's manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City.
